The human brain is awesome! This is a creative prompt-have fun with it. Glue the handout of the brain in your journal.
1. Decorate one side of the brain with symbols and statements that reflect a growth mindset 2. Decorate the other side with symbols and statements of a fixed mindset. 1. Share and discuss yesterdays prompt. Tell us what challenged you. (What did you needed to know first?) 2. Take the Mindset Self-Assessment 3. Write in your journal as many Growth Mindset statements and Fixed mindset statements as you can. Here are a few examples: Fixed-Mindset Statement Growth Mindset Statement Math is not my thing. I'm not there yet. I'm not good at this. I need to change my strategy. I feel dumb if I'm corrected. People can change. Watch the video by Khan Academy called You Can Learn Anything. Write about a time you struggled to learn something. Describe in detail what you had to do to overcome the challenge. Talk about effort, problem-solving strategies, and how you sought help from others.
